Ye Shufeng, PhD (post-doctoral), senior engineer (level 3), deputy director and chief scientist of the East China Sea Development Research Institute of the Ministry of Natural Resources. He received a bachelor’s degree from Beijing Normal University, a master’s degree from Zhejiang University, and a doctorate degree from East China Normal University in 1993, 1996, and 2001 respectively. From 2003 to 2005, he engaged in postdoctoral research at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In June 2001, he joined the East China Sea Branch of the former State Oceanic Administration and served successively as Director of the Environmental Assessment Office, Deputy Chief Engineer, Director of the General Engineering Office, Assistant Director, and Deputy Director of the East China Sea Monitoring Center. In December 2005, he was hired as an engineering technology leader (Zhenggao), and in March 2014, he was hired as a Zhenggao (level three). In October of that year, he was transferred to the deputy director of the Science and Technology Department of the former Donghai Branch. From 2019.9 to 2022.12, he served as deputy director (in charge) and director of the Investigation and Science and Technology Division of the East China Sea Bureau of the Ministry of Natural Resources. Part-time professor and master’s tutor at East China Normal University, Shanghai Ocean University, and Ningbo University, editorial board member of “Ocean Bulletin”, “Marine Environmental Science”, “Journal of Applied Oceanography”, “Ocean Forecast” and “Ocean Development and Management”, and served as GEF/UNDP/SOA Conservation biology expert of the Southern China Coastal Biodiversity Management Project, deputy director of the Youth Working Committee of the Ecological Society of China, and vice chairman of the second council of the National Marine Carbon Alliance. He has presided over 25 projects including 863 plan projects and marine public welfare projects, and won 8 provincial and ministerial awards. He has published more than 100 papers, co-edited 18 monographs, and co-edited more than 10 plans including the “National Ecological Protection and Construction Planning Outline (2003-2020)”.
