Yao Weihao, director of Technology Development Department, Peking University, Dean ofIndustrial Technology Research Institute, Director of Lin-gang Science and TechnologyInnovation Center at Peking University, is responsible for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements at the school.

Yao Weihao pushed Peking University to strengthen the top-level design of achievement transformation work, including the achievement transformation system, school-enterprise joint research and development platform, full-process intellectual property management, high-value patent cultivation and operation, off-site scientific research institutions, incubation enterprise management, scientific and technological achievement transformation funds, and professional technology. More than ten systems have been introduced to standardize work processes in terms of transfer institution construction and other aspects, accumulating valuable experience for building a unique achievement transformation ecosystem of Peking University.

Yao Weihao strengthened the connection between the innovation chain and the industrial chain, promoted the school to build a joint school-enterprise R&D platform with dozens of high-tech enterprises; organized the school to cooperate with the Beijing Science and Technology Innovation Fund to launch the first scientific and technological achievements transformation fund of Peking University, with a scale of over 1 billion yuan. Served as the investment committee; initiated the establishment of Shanghai Yanyuan Private Equity Fund Management Co., Ltd., a private equity fund manager, and served as the chairman of the investment committee.

Yao Weihao also serves as a member of the School-Enterprise Supervision Expert Committee of the Ministry of Education, a member of the Technical Manager Professional Capacity Building Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Science and Technology Service Expert Steering Committee of the China Higher Education Society, the Chairman of the Beijing University Technology Transfer Alliance, and the Zhongguancun Technology Manager. As the vice chairman of the association and vice chairman of the Beijing Technology Market Association, he actively provides policy suggestions to higher-level departments and contributes to the development of the technology transfer industry.
