Director of the Yangtze River Delta National Technology Innovation Center and President of the Shanghai Yangtze River Delta Technology Innovation Research Institute
Liu Qing is currently the director of the Yangtze River Delta National Technology Innovation Center, the director of the Shanghai Yangtze River Delta Technology Innovation Research Institute, the director of the Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute, and a representative of the 14th National People’s Congress. He concurrently serves as the executive director of the Jiangsu Research Institute of China Engineering Science and Technology Development Strategy, the vice president of the Jiangsu European and American Alumni Association, and the chairman of the Jiangsu Metal Society. He has successively served as a senior researcher at Riso National Laboratory in Denmark, director of the Institute of Metal Materials at Tsinghua University, deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Advanced Materials of the Ministry of Education, dean of the School of Materials at Chongqing University, vice president of Chongqing University, and director of the Chongqing Independent Brand Automobile Collaborative Innovation Center.
As an expert in the field of metal materials engineering, Liu Qing has served as an expert in the materials field of the Ministry of Science and Technology’s “863” program and the chief scientist of the “973” program. He has won two second-class National Science and Technology Progress Awards, one second-class National Invention Award, and provincial and ministerial-level awards, five first prizes. He has successively won honorary titles such as the National Science Foundation for Outstanding Youth, Yangtze River Scholar, National Outstanding Teacher, National Advanced Scientific and Technological Worker, National May 1st Labor Medal, and National Advanced Individual for Returned Overseas Chinese and Their Family Members. He has participated in the founding of many high-tech companies.
