Dr. Xu Mingqi is the Vice president of China Center for International Economic Exchange, Shanghia Branch. He is a senior research professor of International Economics and Advisor for State Top Think-tank at Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences. He is Honorary President of Shanghai Institute for European Studies and Vice Chairman of China Society of European Studies. He also servers as Standing Council Member of China Society for World Economics, Advisor of Shanghai Society of World Economics. He is also a guest professor of Fudan University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and Academic Advisor of Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS).
Dr. Xu graduated from Xiamen University and obtained MA in 1982 and Ph. D degree in 1994 both at Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS). In 1995 he was awarded Scholarship by Harvard-Yeching Institute to do postdoctoral research at Harvard University. His main research areas are in the theory international economics, international finance, international political economy, monetary economics and monetary policy, and China’s economic system reforms. He published more than 150 articles and 10 monographs and many of them have been awarded Excellency Prize by Shanghai Municipal government as well as by academic societies.
